Apparently, Some Things Need Instructions

UPDATE:  Unfortunately, I've managed to make a mess of things all over again.  I need to come to terms somehow with the maelstrom swirling inside my head and deal with the fact that I can indeed be a heartless prick.  Essentially, I've deeply wounded a wonderful person yet again and need to be alone for a while.  With that in mind, I've temporarily gone "off the grid" for a bit.  As of Monday, I've deactivated my Facebook accounts, at least temporarily (the one for Al Penwasser may never come back).  Likewise, I've disappeared off Twitter.  But, lucky you, I've retained my tenure here at Blogger because I need to write (albeit at a much reduced rate).  So, (once again...lucky), I will pop up here every so often.
I hope I've limited some of the needless damage I've caused, but scars will last for a very long time.
NOTE:  How many of you looked up 'maelstrom'?  Metaphors, similes, limericks, haikus, words.  They're what I do.

That lucky operator

  1. Lucky? did the mounter get consent?

And don't get me started on whoever mounted the assembly

    1. Nuts. I missed the fine print that said it was being shipped to Congress.

  2. Is the operator male or female?
Glad you're hanging here with us. Thanks for reminding me why I avoid Facebook.

    1. Mounting a male operator....now, there's a visual. O_o
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  3. Nah, I knew what maelstrom meant. But then again, I've got a strangely large vocabulary.

  4. Farcebook can be good to break free from. Does the operator get a say? Do they keep coming all day? Geez.

  5. Facebook sucks. I hardly ever go on there anymore. I don't really go on anything other than Reddit.....

As long as you keep your Words With Friends account, we're good.

  6. I don't have to look up maelstrom, but I'm sorry about your unhappiness.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I've been known to do a little mounting, here and there.

  7. I wish I had serious words of help and /or encouragement. Other than, "Don't waste your time telling yourself you are a heartless prick, CHANGE IT." But as you are older and (theoretically) wiser than me (don't believe it? Rewind the tape where I typed (theoretically)), you know that. Having said all that, my first (why, Lord, why?) thought on the "operator" was Lilly Tomlin, and I don't think that is a good thing with "finger tight" in allcaps just below.

  9. I actually do know what that word meant....what was the word?:) I hope everyone can heal from such difficult times and I know you will and so will she. Right now, there is anger, pain, sadness and regrets but time is now on your side and healing starts

  10. It's not that unusual of a word. Sorry for what you're going through. I hope things improve.

  11. I’ve been instructed, no ordered to speak my mind. So let me just say, although I’m just a cop I do know those big words. Oh & mounting the operator is a splendid position. No pun intended. AP that’s a job for you. Just sayin

  12. Thing is, Al, heartless pricks don't feel lousy about hurting others. They don't berate themselves. They're heartless pricks, afterall. I find myself wishing that the many men who hurt me did, in fact, berate themselves for being heartless pricks. What I'm getting at is that you really are being too harsh. Ease up on yourself. You aren't heartless or a prick. So you can't claim both titles.

As far as the instructions re mounting the operator - I think I attached the boom strap incorrectly to the head adapter. Is there a Youtube video for this?

    Love you.
