Captain Caption LXIII

BONUS Captain Caption!!

"Okay....Adams will have corned beef on rye, Washington is going
to get a ham and cheese, hold the mayo, Rush wants a big salad,
the big girl, Jefferson a turkey club with dark meat-well, that figures-
and Franklin wants fish and chips.
Fish and chips!!??
Seriously, Ben, you old fart, do you even know why we're here??"

Happy Independence Day!

And, for those of you who are not in the United States?
Happy 4th of July!

NOTE:  Okay, this is a repeat.  But, it still makes me laugh.  Sue me.  I've got some beer to drink.  And fireworks to shoot at the dog.

  1. The day will come when the whole of America eats fish and chips on 4th of July!
Incidentally, when you order it's customary to name the variety of fish, e.g. "cod and chips", "haddock and chips", "catfish and chips". We'll make a redcoat of you yet, my boy!

    1. I think it was the thought of shipping off to France for a few years.
Seriously, ole Ben was a shit of a husband. When his wife, Deborah, died, he didn't even sail back to the U.S.

  6. I think Ben knew why he was there. In fact, he was the most important guy there. Did you reverse Trumball's painting intentionally, ala Penwasser? Happy 4th to you and your family.

    1. Not intentionally. Something told me something wasn't right, but I wasn't smart to know why.

  7. I could only imagine how different things would be if British Parliament actually gave into the original demand of American representation with seats in Parliament.

    1. I think they let pride get in the way. I believe we would have ended up very much like Canada, eh?
I wonder how they would have handled slavery.
      Fascinating "what if?" scenario, huh?
