This Isn't News

Monica Lewinsky attended the Tony Awards dressed in what Yahoo News called a "prom-like" dress.

When people are being raped, tortured, and murdered all over the world,
I'm amazed that this is even considered worthy of our consideration.

But, since it's here, it's here.

"Thanks, Al.  Good to know."
I will make one observation, though:  Monica Lewinsky will never be able to wear a blue dress.  Ever again.
"Let's go to the prom.  I don't care what color dress she wears."

  2. It amazes me that what's on TV right now is considered news. Although I did find (I think it was) Jon Stewart's take on the whole Jenner thing interesting... he felt that when he was a man we talked about his achievements, athleticism, and mind. Now that he's a woman all they want to talk about is her hair and makeup. It's a sad state for how media views women.

And that's definitely NOT a prom dress... it doesn't show enough skin. :(

    1. I thought the same thing about its "prom" look. Maybe years and years ago...?

  3. Rather conservative prom dress. Hilary still looks miffed though

  4. I think the dress looks lovely on her and even if it did come from a prom dress store- so what! It does look much more formal that the prom dresses I've seen in the last few years.

    1. It really does look good on her. And I really think she's an attractive woman.

    2. Truly and seriously, I think she got a raw deal. Of course, she was an adult, but it appeared that she was taken in by her boss, a serial philanderer. We could debate the politics (don't feel like it), but it seems that Bubba is the real culprit here. Even if it was against Hillary, she's still his wife. He's the one we should be poking fun at. Which I usually do.

  5. Mayhap it fits in the 'edutainment' category; nope, too brainless even for that.

  6. Well, when you turn to Yahoo News... I guess they were miffed that it wasn't more controversial...

  7. So what was she doing at the Tony awards in the first place? She isn't connected to the Theatre, is she?

    1. Not that I know. I could investigate further, but why take the trouble? How was your trip? I'll visit your place to find out.

  8. My son and I were just discussing how news isn't really news. Of course, he tends to go to several sites a bit more radical than I am. I also think he's a closet conspiracy theorist. He's 20 and finding his way and his opinions but some of the stuff he comes up with raise my brow.

Monica is just so yesterday's news or yester-year. ;-) But the dress she's wearing is pretty and looks like quite a few cocktail dresses I've seen lately and nothing like a prom dress from my observation of this year's crop of prom dressing girls. lol!

    1. It doesn't look like a prom dress. It actually looks quite nice (which is NOT to say that prom dresses don't).

  12. desperate for news today? I think the bigger story is that Katy Perry is releasing a song that's going to trash Taylor Swift. Monica is so last decades or more.....

  13. Oh when the latest Kim Kardashiass useless crap is going on, all news points to their empty lives. It is either them or that creepy 19 kids or some silly housewife. Never mind who is trying to find a cure for cancer or help the homeless, kids or animals but let's see what dress they are wearing. Of course I do look at dresses 'cos I like that but geez louise, we need to get our priorities straight. Dress is ok but I do think navy blue is out

  14. It's not only the topics, Al. It's the damn stupid reporting. A "prom dress"? Really? WTF? Since when does a prom dress fall to the gal's ankles?
And since when does Monica cover her thighs?

  15. It DOES look like a prom dress, though. I'm always surprised by what's considered top news according to yahoo. It why I rarely go there for my news.

  17. I'm glad Monica is making public appearances again. She was forced to answer questions that no woman should ever have to answer. I'd like to see every politician in America take turns to wash her feet as an act of contrition. Including Hillary.

  20. How did she even get a ticket to the Tonys in the first place? I think any attention she gets is too much. I never tire of that cheerful Hilary photo!

    1. I actually don't hate her at all. In fact, I feel kind of sorry for her. She was maltreated by a lot of people. All kidding aside (no, really) she looks pretty good in that dress.
However, that being said, I'll have my sophomoric little laughs about her.
She could poke fun at me, too, if she showed up on Blogger.
      Wouldn't THAT be a scream?
