  1. Great tribute Al, the perfect way to pay your respects.

    1. It seemed the most fitting thing to do-put an American (could have have been British, Canadian, Italian, or otherwise, but they had already left) flag on one of our HF whip antennas.

  2. That was a pretty nice tribute by those guys, and by you.

    1. Thank you. We were all brothers and sisters then. What a shame that's changed!!

    1. Thank you, Elsie. It'll be nice to get back to Penwasser Silliness. Except on Veterans Day. But, we have a couple months.

    1. I remember it like it was yesterday. Chilly, perfectly clear blue sky, with just a light breeze (which was relatively rare in Iceland). Sharp contrast to events back in the States.

    1. Thanks. I like it. Just wish the reason behind it was different!

  7. Just out of curiosity, did you guys have to ramp up security, even in Iceland?

    1. Though I usually find government actions (not just the military) to be unnecessary OVER reactions, it was a wise idea. The worst part of that day (well, not the WORST) was the uncertainty. Nobody had any idea what was really going on and from where the next attack would come. Although...Iceland? I get ya.
