Otherwise, I wouldn't know that it takes almost two gallons to flush a urinal.

  1. I wish I could read the numbers although I expect if I could it would be meaningless to this metric girl

    1. The metric system makes so much sense to me, it really does. I wish the U.S. used it more.
However, may I present the "Penwasser Theory Why the Metric System Will Never Catch On In the U.S.":
      American Football's yard markers.
Can you imagine, "Third down and three meters to go."?
Yep, I can hear millions of football fans, "WTF does that mean!?"

  2. I'm the same as Mynx, I'm really missing out it seems! I do know however it takes a lot of water to flush every single toilet, such a drain.

  3. Now your just messing up this Canadian, you know we use different metric crap then you right? I need a mph/km type thing on the urnal so I'll know the difference.

  4. For science Kiddo had extra credit where she had to bring all this stuff in that measured in weight or length in metric. I had to look everything up to figure it out. Than she takes it in after we find the stuff and he measures and weighs nothing.

    1. I thought they were for backing up and going. But, you have to flush a lot of times to get your whole business down.
      Mints are good, too.

  7. The metric system is so much easier to use. Really it is, it's all increments of 10. I hate converting these things when I travel!

  8. Hi, all. Thanks for all your comments. I'm in Christiansburg, Virginia right now, visiting our son at college and trying not to sound like I'm from the north. I won't be back until Tuesday (because, later on today, we'll travel to Lynchburg for a coolege visit for our daughter. She may want me to send my money there starting in the fall. I'll then be able to address each one of you on Tuesday.
But, incidentally, I agree with you wholeheartedly, Anne.

  9. "coolege"?
Shoot, you know I meant "college." I think the Deep South has that effect on me.
