We Interrupt Our Program For a Brief Serious Moment

I was looking at submitting some of my hideous scrawls to HubPages.  Apparently, they give you money (or puppies) every time someone clicks on your link (which sounds like a euphemism I kinda dig).
Do any of you work with those people?  If so, do you think it would be a good way to go for me?  I'm not sure, but getting paid for this crap might not be a bad idea.  It'll help support my cocaine living expenses.
I wouldn't leave Blogger and would save my best (?) stuff for you all.  I'm just curious.
Anyway, mull it over and get back to me.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program....

  1. I don't think I will ever get paid for this gig.

  2. I've never been to hubpages. I know a lot of people that have ads on their blog, and I'm offering adspace on my page to get more traffic to other bloggers. I'm, in a sense, making money by helping them make money.

If you find something that works for you, share with the world.

  3. I write for Yahoo's Associated Content...It's earned me about $100 a year...if that. But I don't do much to promote my work, and you get paid more if you give them excluseive rights, which I almost never do. So I guess I could make more. Don't know how much more. Good luck.

  4. I'm not clicking any buggers link.

  5. I don't click the links on other people's pages and don't see this as a money maker (though wouldn't that be great). I don't know the hubpages but I say do what makes you happy and what you have time for. If anyone can get paid for their drivel it'd be you! :)

  6. So far, you've all confirmed any reticence (NOTE: I LOVE snooty words) I have. I'm thinking of not changing (except my socks underoos).

  7. As it is for me, now I am just speaking on my own behalf (a rare occurrence since I usually know what's best for the entire galaxy), I am not a fan of ads all over Hell's three quarter acres (note the increase from half acre - Hell is ever expanding) and I do not click on any ad that is in a blog - never, no exception, even on the ever delightful fruit-of-my-loin’s website.

    Yup, I’m the lone holdout!

Don’t leave me blogging all alone on virgin (note my new black and white theme) blogging soil in Hell’s unused quarter acre with not an ad in sight to distract readers from the main reason they visit us - to be entertained!

I beg you, Al….don’t do it! DON’T DO IT!

(do you actually know how much fun I have commenting on your stuff - it’s better then writing my own blog)

    Cheers, Jenny

  8. Thanks, everyone! I'm staying. Screw HubPages. Surely, that kind of loyalty merits a BON?
    And don't call me Shirley.

  9. i've been wondering since i started blogging a year and a half ago if i could ever find a way to get paid to write the crap that i write. i've debated putting ads on my site, but since i never click them when i read other blogs, i guess i figure no one will click them on my blog either, so it would be wasted. plus, i think they put up ads based on keywords which means most of my ads would probably be about bras and adult diapers.

  10. I don't do Hubpages, but I do have articles on Bukisa. Totally different stuff than my blog. I have made some money but not much. I don't market much either though.
